External Aerodynamics

We are able of providing a comprehensive study of fluid flow around a body. This study can involve analyzing a system as well as optimizing its performance. Simulations of incompressible or compressible flows, fluid-structure interaction, vortex-induced vibrations, are some examples of studies conducted by our CFD engineers at GDTech.

Internal Aerodynamics

GDTech has gained extensive experience in the field of valves, pumps, and all types of industrial processes involving internal flows. We contribute to the development of your products to minimize pressure drop induced by the flow, reduce recirculation zones, and make the process as efficient as possible.

Combustion

Our team provides technical services in the field of turbulent combustion by offering tailored numerical models to adress client issues: fast or detailed chemistry, Arrhenius kinetics, etc. Modeling flames in combustion chambers, burners, or large-scale steam generators are examples of simulations used to obtain temperature maps and chemical species distribution, identify hot spots and evaluate reaction efficiency.

Compressors and Turbines

We utilize softwares that enables us to establish an initial 1D/2D design to obtain a preliminary assessment of the overall performance of the studied turbomachinery. Subsequently, a 3D calculation validates these performances and establishes efficiency maps, surge/stall margins, as well as velocity and pressure fields.

Prediction of supersonic flow around a ball, taking into account the movement of the ball within the fluid domain. The use of techniques such as remeshing and automatic refinement enables us to capture turbulent flow in the wake with unparallleled accuracy.  The evolution of the velocity and acceleration of the projectile, along with the forces acting upon it over time, as well as overpressure due to the shockwave, can be calculated and correlated with pratical observations.

Heat Transfer

Proven excellence in CFD simulations for heat transfer. Our expertise allows for precise and optimized thermal design. By leveraging our advanced simulations, you can model and analyze heat transfer mechanisms, anticipate hotspots, optimize cooling, and ensure exceptional thermal performance for various industrial thermal applications..

Acoustics

GDTech has powerful software in acoustics, enabling us to conduct noise propagation calculations, aero-acoustic calculations where we utilize CFD to determine sources due to flows and turbulence, and propagate them accordingly. We can also perform vibro-acoustic calculations.
